Jane Linford, founder of Community Spotlight in Portsmouth, aims to create 200 knitted “Travel Buddies” and hide them on southwestern trains for commuters to find, all before Christmas.

She has approximately 50 dolls so far and is reaching out to Portsmouth creatives as she needs help to reach her goal by December 14th, when she wants to do the big hide.

She says that this is the first project of this size that she has ever done and that she feels the pressure but it is exciting too.

Jane has worked closely with representatives from Southwestern Railway and a helper from Havant knitted a pigeon and seagull mascot inspired by their adverts.

Jane says “when I picked them up I just thought they were perfect… I asked a little old lady from Facebook to create these and the likeness to the Southwestern adverts is just unbelievable.”
